Indie game launches for Monday, July 15th
Fallen Leaf is a retro-style, side-scrolling action-platformer, with over 70 stages, a vibrant 8-bit palette, and 4 expansive world maps. Retro platformers inspired by the likes of Shovel Knight come thick and fast, but this is a top notch quality one I’ve kept my eye on for quite a while now, so if you’re a fan of those types of games, you won’t go wrong picking this one up.
🔗 Out July 15th on Steam
Galactic Glitch is a twin-stick roguelike shooter with wacky, physics-based combat, where you use a gravity gun to slingshot rocks andmines off arena walls, and dash through goopy arena boundaries.
🔗 Out July 15th in Steam Early Access
Darkest Dungeon II is the acclaimed, hit roguelike turn-based dungeoncrawler - a sequel to one of the past decade’s most successful indie breakouts. Stylised, moody, dark, and undeniably genre-defining, the very highly-reviewed sequel launched on consoles this week (if you didn’t already play it on PC!)
🔗 Out July 15th on Switch, PS4/PS5, XB1/XBS (previously Steam)
Galactivore is a retro action-platformer run-and-gun, a bit of a mix between Mega Man, Metroid, and the original Duke Nukem, with an all-female cast. Its pixel art style looks straight out of Microsoft Paint - and I mean that in the nicest way possible, as it gives off an early 2000s, nostalgic indie scene vibe not often seen anymore.
🔗 Out July 15th on Steam
Heart of the Abyss is a soulslike with top-down, hack-and-slash gameplay, where you explore the underwater depths and fight big ol’ crabs and other corrupted sea creatures. A pretty impressive, free student game!
🔗 Out July 15th on Steam
REVEREND is an old-school “boomer shooter” FPS, inspired by the likes of Blood, Duke Nukem 3D, and Rise of the Triad, as opposed to the more DOOM, Quake, or Heretic inspired FPS’ you more often see recently. Complete with retro scanned-in hand animations and religious undertones.
🔗 Out July 15th on Steam
Stolen Hearts: Wolf Knight is a precision action-platformer about defeating the evil Wolf King, with a focus on 100%ing via three-star level rankings, collectibles, and hidden secrets.
🔗 Out July 15th on Steam
Astro Looter: Survivor is a hybrid roguelike, survival, and tower defense game, with top-down shooter, wave-based gameplay and mining elements to boot. It’s a big melting pot of ideas, which is something that always intrigues me and pulls in my interest.
🔗 Out July 15th on Steam

Please note, some news is missing due to my absence in the first half of the week - I scrape indie game news actively every day, and it is quite tricky pulling it all together after the fact.
